Coronavirus Agreement

Government Guidelines

During the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, I will be following the Government advice on how to stay safe. Should this advice change (whether nationally or locally), this may result in short term changes to my practice. At all times, Government advice will supersede anything in this contract.

Things I am doing to keep you safe

I have introduced the following measures, to enable me to provide a safe environment for you:

  • On arrival, if you do not want to press the button for the relevant therapy room, please text me so I can let you in.
  • Keep the therapy room door open when you arrive so you do not have to touch any handles.
  • I will keep the window ajar, weather dependent, to enable some air circulation.
  • All necessary paperwork will be signed before the session by way of e-mail and online forms.
  • I will be using two different rooms. One room has plastic chairs that I can clean after each session. The other room has a fabric sofa and chair. A clean, washed, new throw will be placed over the sofa for every client and washed after the session.
  • The chairs will be set just under 2.5 metres apart and slightly angled, to allow for social distancing.
  • I will no longer provide any drinks or tissues.
  • I will leave at least 30 minutes between sessions.
  • I will open both the therapy room door and the main entrance door when our session has finished.
  • After each session, all contact surfaces will be disinfected.
  • I may choose to wear a see-through face shield during our session but will not wear a face mask.
  • I will not offer a card reader at the end of the session by way of payment. BACS payments can be paid before or after the session or I can send you a payment link. This works in the same way as paying with the card reader but can be done from my mobile phone without you having to touch anything.
  • I will report back to you if I develop symptoms after our session.

Things I ask you to do

In order to keep a safe environment, this is what I require from you

  • Please arrive as close to your appointment time as possible as the waiting room is out of use.
  • Sanitise your hands upon entry.
  • Do not touch the door handles, I will open the door for you on entry and after the session.
  • Bring a see-through face shield with you if you would prefer to wear one. Please note that due to the fact I wear hearing aids, I would be unable to hear you if you were wearing a face mask.
  • Keep your belongings with you – preferably bring a bag so as not to use the coat hook.
  • You are welcome to bring your own drinks and tissues, but please take any rubbish away with you.
  • To report back to me if you should develop any symptoms after our session.

Facilities

The toilets are shared for the whole building and you need to use the communal stairs and hallway to access them. They will be cleaned regularly, but I cannot guarantee the sanitisation procedures for the shared areas if you choose to use them. A sign will be displayed on the toilet door if the room needs cleaning to make you aware.

Symptoms

In the event that you or I (or anyone in our households) develops symptoms, you should not attend the session in person. Where possible, the session will be changed to a remote method. I will give you as much notice as possible in this case, and I would ask that you do the same.

If you are unable to attend your session due to either you or anyone in your household displaying COVID symptoms, there will be no late cancellation fee.

Communication

Should you need to contact me at short notice, the best way is to call – 07974 415739. Less urgent enquiries can be emailed to [email protected]

Risk Assessment

If you select face to face counselling sessions then you will be asked to complete a risk assessment.

Track and Trace

Should I test positive for coronavirus, I may have to disclose people whom I have had close contact with, to the NHS. If I am required to do so, I will provide your name and contact number. No information around the nature of our contact will be provided.

Should you test positive, I am happy for you to provide my name and phone number to the NHS tracers.

I am now using the NHS COVID-19 App when seeing clients face to face. There is a QR code displayed on arrival and in the therapy rooms at North Lodge. Please use this to ‘check-in’ using the NHS COVID-19 App to help comply with contact tracing requirements.
